Patio heater repair – Patio heaters are extremely suitable as heating for a garden party or barbeque because of their ease of use and mobility. But then just when it is needed: your patio theater does not work anymore. The appliance does not switch on or does not want to remain on. Obviously, gas is needed to burn a patio theater. The heater will never do without gas. Even if there is still a small amount of gas in the bottle, this may be too little to let the patio heater burn properly: the gas pressure is too low.
If the pilot light is not burning, it may be that the gas supply is blocked. Dust, rust or even a spider can be sufficient to clog the supply. First check that the gas tap of the gas cylinder is open. Then you can blow through the gas tube, the gas line and control knob with compressed air one at a time. This ensures that all pipes are clean and therefore allow gas to pass through.
It happens that the pilot flame can be ignited, but the heater fails when you want to turn the knob to full power. Before you open the gas completely, press and hold the button for about 20 seconds. This time is needed to give the thermocouple the chance to warm up. The thermocouple will ensure that the gas supply remains open as long as a combustion takes place.
